ProGifts Etc. bought US Promo earlier this month, said John Farrell, vice president of ProGifts Etc.
The companies sell promotional products and business gifts such as coffee mugs, pencils, beach towels, shirt and hats with business logos.
US Promo, which was a Gainesville-based company, was ProGifts' direct competition, according to Farrell.
ProGifts plans to hire more inside sales support, and will move at the end of this year, Farrell said.
Farrell would not say how much his company paid for US Promo.
